Our story
About Survival Nation
Survival Nation started in a garage in Reno, Nevada, after a three day power cut that turned a full freezer into a bin bag. We had camping stoves and no plan. The food we found online came with serving counts that fell apart under a calculator, so we started counting for ourselves.
Today we stock the shelf we wish we had that week: real meals sealed for 25 years, water you can treat and store, power that runs a fridge, and the small gear that stops a bad night becoming a bad week. Every kit on the site carries one honest number, the days it covers for one person at 2,000 calories, and the rest of the site is built around that number.
What we believe
- A supply is easier to build the week before you need it than the night you do.
- Calories are the only serving size that matters. We print them on every card.
- Two weeks per person is where most households should start. Everything else stacks on top.
- If a product cannot tell you how many days it covers, we say so on the page.
Where it comes from
Our food is packed by Nutrient Survival in Reno, Nevada, in #10 cans with a dated lot number. We ship from the same city, in two business days, in plain brown boxes. Nothing on the outside says what is inside.
